I love books! I love reading them and I love writing them! I love the journey and the escape they bring. I love getting to know new people in the stories I read and write. And it’s such fun to explore new places through stories too!
I also love living near water, and we now live on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. So I have the joy of seeing a huge expanse of water and sky every day!

I have been writing since I was in college. I have a Masters in English from the University of Virginia, and have used my writing skills in my corporate work, non-profit work, and in teaching writing at the college level for over 15 years as an Adjunct.
In my spare time, I like to walk, bike, and kayak. Our black Lab, Gracie, likes to run through the apple orchards in our area and swim in Lake Ontario whenever she can. My youngest daughter tried to teach Gracie to read, but Gracie would rather chase chipmunks and chew driftwood!
My two daughters and my husband are avid readers. Some of our best days are spent cozied up with a good book. You might walk in to find two or three of us in the same room but silent, each lost in the book of the day. Not that we are a quiet clan. Just easily engrossed in a good book!
I grew up in a big family, the oldest of six kids, and reading was a way for me to have my own space. I learned an important skill as a kid: how to concentrate amid chaos. So I can read or write anywhere, no matter how loud or crowded the environment. I thank my boisterous siblings for helping me develop that crucial skill for a reader and writer!
